Who uses permit data

A permit is a public signal that a property owner is spending money on a project right now, and often needs more than one trade.

Pool, patio & fence

New pool permits mean fencing, decking, landscaping and lighting jobs within weeks.

Roofing & restoration

Track re-roof and storm-repair volume by zip code across hail-prone DFW.

Solar, HVAC & electrical

Spot system change-outs, panel upgrades and solar installs as they're approved.

New construction suppliers

Reach builders behind new single-family homes in Frisco, Prosper, McKinney and more.

Foundation repair

Clay soil keeps DFW and Austin busy; see who's installing piers this month.

AI agents & lead tools

Plug permits into your agent, CRM or outreach workflow with pay-per-call access.

For AI agents and developers

PermitInfoBroker uses x402, the open HTTP payment standard. Any x402-aware client pays automatically.

  1. Call an endpoint. You get 402 Payment Required with the price and where to pay.
  2. Your client signs a USDC payment from its wallet and retries the same request.
  3. The payment settles on Base, Solana, Polygon or Arbitrum and you get the JSON results. That's it.
import { x402Client, wrapFetchWithPayment } from "@x402/fetch";
import { ExactEvmScheme } from "@x402/evm/exact/client";
import { privateKeyToAccount } from "viem/accounts";

const client = new x402Client();
client.setSpendControls({ maxAmountPerPayment: "$1" });
client.register("eip155:*", new ExactEvmScheme(privateKeyToAccount(process.env.KEY)));
const fetchPaid = wrapFetchWithPayment(fetch, client);

const res = await fetchPaid(
  "/v1/permits/search?jurisdiction=collin-county-tx&category=pool&city=Frisco&since=2026-10-01"
);
console.log(await res.json());

FAQ

Where does the data come from?

Official open-data portals: the City of Austin, the City of Dallas, and the Collin Central Appraisal District (via data.texas.gov). We refresh every morning and re-check the last two weeks, since cities sometimes publish permits a few days late.

How fresh is it?

Updated daily. The live coverage page shows the latest permit date and last refresh for every jurisdiction.

Do I need an account or API key?

No. Payment is the authentication. Any wallet holding USDC on Base, Solana, Polygon or Arbitrum can query, and you only pay for successful requests.

What about privacy?

Permits are public records. We store project details and business contractor names, but not property-owner or individual applicant names.

Will you add more cities?

Yes. More fast-growing Sun Belt metros are next. Current coverage is always on the live coverage page.
